  74.   DataNETLink  is  an  National &  International  Electronic  Echomailing
  75.   Network. There are presently  36 Conferences available for echomailing.
  76.   The network not only  serves as a base of information exchange but also
  77.   coms along  with  its own file distribution system distributing new bbs
  78.   doors, utilities  and  related  bbs  utilities to all its participating
  79.   members.  The file network is known as DataNETLink Distribution Network
  80.   (DDN). If you also wish to be a member of DDN, please refer to the text
  81.   file DDN.TXT and DDN.APP enclosed in this archive for more information.

  84. Requirements
  85. ───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
  86.  
  87.   There is no age limit  for joining DataNETLink. However, you must own a
  88.   BBS which is able to echomail manually or by  mailer at least twice per
  89.   week. DataNETLink is  compatible with  most Echomailing  software  like
  90.   FrontDoor, BinkleyTerm, RNet, etc. You are  not allowed  to  cross-echo
  91.   DataNETLink's messages to other Network's and vice versa.

  93.   Your BBS *MUST* be at least 6 months old.
  94.  
  95.   Our network uses a standard Taglines must be adopted :
  96.  
  97.       DataNETLink ■ <BBS Name> <Phone Number> <City/State> and <Modem>
  98.       if space permits.
  99.  
  100.   The "■" is being created by holding down the ALT key and type 254. If
  101.   you are not able to get "■" you may use "*".
  102.  
  103.   If you are  able  to follow  all the below  requirements,  you  will be
  104.   eligible to join us.
  105.  
  106.    1)      Aliases that are not permitted. Occasionally, real sounding
  107.            aliases are allowed ONLY if the local sysop approves.
  108.  
  109.    2)      The conference "DataNETLink" must be carried by every
  110.            participating BBS.
  111.  
  112.    3)      Abusive language (non-profanity included), flaming, and
  113.            other such forms of verbal combat are not wanted.
  114.  
  115.    4)      Conference Moderators facilitate the flow of conferences. If
  116.            a user believes that there is a problem, we encourage
  117.            that the user send a message to the moderators or the sysop.
  118.  
  119.    5)      ANSI codes are only permitted in the designated ANSI
  120.            conference.
  121.  
  122.    6)      Nodes must make daily mails transfer to their Hub. This
  123.            eliminates old, dry mails. Exceptions can be made for
  124.            special cases.
  125.  
  126.    7)      Regional Coordinators must make mail transfers to the Zone
  127.            Coordinator at least twice a week. Exceptions can be made
  128.            for special cases.
  129.  
  130.    8)      All BBS must carry at least 3 Conferences excluding the
  131.            manditory "DataNETLink" Conference.
  132.  
  133.    9)      Mails must not be mixed with other networks and sysops are not
  134.            allow to send mails to other bbs if they are not a hub or host.

  139. Software Needed

  142.   The following echomailing software are being supported by DataNETLink:

  144.            1)  Front-End Mailer (FrontDoor/BinkleyTerm, etc.)
  145.            2)  QWK Mailer (RNet/Qnet).

  148. How To Apply
  149. ───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

  151.   There are few  ways to apply  for DataNETLink membership. Below are the
  152.   ways available:
  153.  
  154.      1. Send in your application form to The PC ToyShop BBS  at the
  155.         address below.
  156.  
  157.      2. Dial in The PC ToyShop BBS and upload your application under
  158.         the file <YOUR BBS NAME>.ZIP
  159.  
  160.      3. Send a netmail message via Front-End Mailer to 1:152/37.
  161.  
  162.      4. Apply Online by logging in and filling up script questionair
  163.         #12 located in your Main Board.
  164.  
  165.      5. Apply through one of the Regional Coordinators above.
  166.       
  167.  
  168.   After receiving your application form, you will receive a return netmail
  169.   confirming your membership. Echomailing will start very soon.

  171.   For those applying for Regional Coordinator, please refer to the file
  172.   REGIONAL.TXT for requirements.

  175. Network's EchoMailing Time
  176. ───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
  177.   The PC ToyShop BBS supports both QWK and Fidonet Mail formats.
  178.  
  179.   The PC ToyShop BBS is 24 hour crash mail capable. Even then, you might
  180.   occasionally reach a busy tone. So we have set aside 2 hours for
  181.   Echomailing Time. This time also happens to be our Fidonet mailing
  182.   hour.

  184.               Fidonet Mail Hours : 0230 - 0400 Hours (PST)
  185.  
  186.         System Maintenance Hours : 1:30am through 2:30am (PST)

  188.   If you are calling for QWK mails, please do not call during these times.
